Hyderabad: Telangana has extended the Centre-developed framework for fertiliser sales (FFS) to 10 more districts, expanding a digital system aimed at bringing greater transparency to fertiliser distribution and ensuring farmers have real-time access to stock availability.Reviewing the implementation of the programme, agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the FFS platform is now operational in Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Medak, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Vikarabad, in addition to districts where it was introduced on a pilot basis.The FFS system enables farmers to buy fertilisers through Aadhaar-based authentication and check real-time fertiliser stocks available with authorised dealers. The minister said the platform would strengthen transparency in fertiliser distribution by facilitating end-to-end digital monitoring of supply and sales.According to him, the system is expected to curb irregularities such as hoarding, diversion of fertilisers and black marketing, while ensuring timely availability of fertilisers to farmers.The minister urged farmers, fertiliser wholesalers, retailers and other stakeholders to actively use the platform to ensure its successful implementation across the state.As part of the expansion, training programmes are being conducted for agriculture officials and fertiliser dealers in the newly covered districts. The minister also directed district agriculture officers to organise awareness campaigns at the grassroots level to help farmers understand the platform and its benefits.The state govt is implementing the FFS system in phases as part of its efforts to strengthen fertiliser distribution through digital monitoring and improve farmers’ access to critical agricultural inputs.
