Warangal: Telangana director general of police (DGP) CV Anand urged police personnel to stay away from betting apps and online gaming platforms, warning them against becoming addicted to unnecessary online applications.During his three-day tour of the erstwhile Warangal district, the DGP visited the Mamnoor TGSP 4th Battalion on Saturday evening and interacted with personnel.Speaking at the interaction, Anand cautioned staff against becoming habituated to online games and betting. Referring to the recent suicide of a constable at the DGP’s office, he said the constable had reportedly become addicted to online betting and gaming, and urged personnel not to fall into a similar trap.He assured Mamnoor battalion personnel that if govt land was available, houses would be constructed for them through the police housing corporation.Anand said all promotions, deputations, armed reserve (AR) conversions and transfer allowances (TAs) would be handled transparently and in accordance with govt norms. He said there was no need for personnel to worry about departmental issues.He also recalled his tenure as Station House Officer at Hasanparthy police station and expressed happiness over his continued association with the Warangal district.Mamnoor battalion commandant Sivaprasad Reddy, additional DGP Sanjay Kumar Jain and Warangal commissioner of police N Swetha Reddy accompanied Anand.Later, he visited the police commissionerate office and had dinner with officers in Hanumakonda.
