Kolkata: The state school education department will assess how many schools have rooftop solar systems and identify gap areas. A meeting was held with the central govt regarding the installation of rooftop solar power on Tuesday. A meeting was held for implementing ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in Govt Schools’, where representatives from the school education department of other states also participated, where they discussed the roadmap for implementing this. It was decided that the survey would start from July and by Aug, a report would be deposited to the department by Sept. Around 3,450 state-run institutes have already got solar panels in the past two years. tnn
