Pune: An 18-year-old student died and his friend was severely injured after their motorcycle rammed into a vehicle on the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass at Bavdhan on Friday.Bavdhan police sub-inspector Shrirang Thakare said, “On Thursday night, the two friends had gone to Hinjewadi on the deceased’s 650cc motorcycle. Around 3.30am on Friday, they were returning home when the bike hit the vehicle, lost control, and both riders skidded for some distance.”The deceased, Sarvadnya Chougule from Kolhapur, was pursuing engineering from a private college in Pune and stayed in Bibvewadi, police said. When taken to a nearby hospital, Chougule was declared dead by doctors. His friend Yashraj More is currently undergoing treatment.“We have registered a case of causing death by negligence. Our investigation is on,” Thakare said.
