Ambala: A schoolgirl was injured after a stray bull attacked her in Lal Kurti area of Ambala Cantonment on Monday morning, with CCTV footage showing the animal catching her with its horns and tossing her into the air.The girl was walking to school with her schoolbag when the bull suddenly charged at her. The footage shows the animal catching the bag with its horns during the first attack. The girl manages to move away, but the bull charges again, catches her with its horns and lifts her off the ground before throwing her onto the road divider.The impact leaves the girl lying on the divider. Passers-by then rushed to her aid and took her to Ambala Cantonment civil hospital, where she received stitches for injuries to her head and forehead. She was later discharged from the hospital.The incident has renewed concerns over stray cattle in Ambala Cantonment, with residents alleging that such animals pose a recurring threat to pedestrians and schoolchildren.Residents have sought immediate action to catch stray cattle, tag them and shift them to cow shelters.Ambala Sadar municipal council executive officer Devender Narwal said the civic body had discussed the issue with gaushala managers. “A meeting has been held with gaushala managers of the municipal area. They have told us they are short of space to accommodate more stray cattle, but we have asked them to make space available in their facilities,” he said.
