Mohali: A major accident was narrowly averted on the busy PR-7 road in Zirakpur Monday when a truck loaded with stones allegedly went out of control, rammed into four vehicles and overturned by the roadside.The accident occurred near a dhaba while the truck was travelling from Mohali towards Derabassi. Preliminary information suggests the truck’s steering locked suddenly, leaving the driver unable to control the vehicle.The truck first hit a garbage collection vehicle parked on the roadside before crashing into three other vehicles in quick succession. It later overturned, scattering panic among commuters and disrupting traffic on the stretch for some time.Several vehicles were damaged in the mishap, but no injuries were reported, averting what could have been a serious tragedy.The accident led to temporary congestion as damaged vehicles blocked part of the road.
