Ludhiana: A 70-year-old man, Sukhdev Singh, died on Wednesday from injuries sustained while intervening in a village land dispute at Bonkar Gujjran on May 22.Assailants had rammed a tractor into him before attacking him with spades and sticks. He died during hospital treatment in Ludhiana.Alleging police inaction, the septuagenarian’s family is refusing to perform the funeral until arrests are made. Koom Kalan’s station house officer (SHO), inspector Madhu Bala, stated that murder charges will now be added to the existing cross-cases following the post-mortem examination.
