Ahmedabad: Gujarat’s GST collections surged 44% to Rs 9,916 crore in April, up from Rs 6,901 crore during same month last year, marking the highest monthly mop-up since the levy’s implementation, according to the office of the commissioner of taxes.Alongside GST, the state reported additional inflow of Rs 2,711 crore from VAT, Rs 1,055 crore from electricity tax and Rs 21 crore from business tax in April 2026. In aggregate, Gujarat’s tax department garnered a total of Rs 13,703 crore from GST, VAT, electricity tax and business tax during the month.
