The accident occurred a short distance from the launch venue
Ahmedabad: Shortly after flag-off, one Jan Rakshak vehicle from the newly launched fleet met with an accident on Gandhinagar’s BSNL Road in Sector 11, a short distance from the event site. A police employee moved the vehicle to the side of the road. The accident occurred soon after the high-profile launch, as senior officials and police personnel were still in the area. Sector 7 police said no formal complaint on the accident has been received.With the latest addition, the number of Jan Rakshak vehicles deployed across Gujarat has risen to 1,000. The fleet has been integrated with a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system and panic-button technology, as Gujarat Police aim to bring the emergency response time to under eight minutes.
