Ahmedabad: The Indian Rheumatology Association will organise an online public awareness programme on Oct 18, allowing citizens to seek expert answers to questions related to rheumatic disorders and arthritis.Dr Sapan Pandya, vice-president of the association, said the initiative is aimed at both the general public and medical practitioners to dispel misconceptions and improve awareness about rheumatology and the management of conditions such as arthritis. “These diseases often remain undiagnosed for long periods. Even after diagnosis, when symptoms such as persistent joint pain are present, many patients turn to alternative therapies instead of seeking appropriate treatment,” he said.Recently, to mark World Arthritis Day, the association conducted an online quiz competition, in which a team from Vadodara emerged as the state winner.
