Gurgaon: Around 50 passengers had a narrow escape after a private sleeper bus hit a divider on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Sohna in the early hours of Tuesday, rupturing its fuel tank and spilling diesel on the road.The bus, travelling from Delhi to Jaipur, met with the accident around 1 am, nearly 12 km ahead of Sohna, after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. Police said the bus struck a metal sheet on the divider, damaging its fuel tank and causing diesel to leak onto the carriageway.“All passengers were evacuated immediately, and no injuries were sustained,” an officer said.Passengers remained stranded on the expressway for nearly two hours before the bus operator arranged another vehicle to take them to Jaipur.Police said neither Sohna City nor Sohna Sadar police station received information about the accident at the time it occurred.A video of the damaged bus later surfaced on social media, prompting police to begin looking into the incident.Officials said the bus is registered in Rewari district of Haryana. They added that no case has been registered so far, as no written complaint has been received.Police said appropriate action would be taken if a complaint is filed.
