Rather than relenting, the woman struck the pillion rider and pursued the vehicle on foot while screaming for assistance. The chase forced the assailants into a nearby street where residents, alerted by the commotion, began to emerge from their homes. Sensing they were cornered, the attackers discarded the purse and fled the scene.Inspector Gurmukh Singh, head of the Dugri police station, says that authorities have reviewed the footage and identified the sequence of events. Although the woman recovered her belongings and declined to file a formal complaint, Singh stated that police are actively working to track down the suspects.Responding to a Snatch AttemptSecurity experts generally advise against physical confrontation during a robbery, but understanding your surroundings can help in the aftermath. Immediate vocalizing, as seen in this case, often panics opportunistic thieves who rely on stealth and speed. If safe to do so, note the make, color, and partial license plate of any vehicle involved. CCTV is a critical tool for identification. Preserve the footage. Report incidents even if property is recovered to help police map crime hotspots. MSID:: 130993028 413 |
