Bengaluru: Swiggy has appointed former Myntra chief Nandita Sinha as CEO of Instamart, replacing Amitesh Jha, even as the quick-commerce unit’s former chief operating officer, Ankit Jain, has joined Nykaa. The back-to-back appointments put the spotlight on leadership churn at Instamart. Jha, who took charge in Aug 2024, resigned on Tuesday to pursue opportunities outside Swiggy. Sinha will take over on Aug 3.Jain, meanwhile, has been appointed to lead Nykaa Now, the beauty retailer’s quick-delivery business. His departure, followed by Jha’s exit, means Instamart has seen changes at both the CEO and COO levels within a short span.In a LinkedIn post, Jha said he had joined Instamart when quick commerce was still seen as a “cash-burning machine”. He said his mandate was to improve the business’s economics and build a more efficient supply chain and dark-store network.“My specific mandate is complete,” Jha wrote, adding that he planned to take a short break before deciding on his next move.Sinha joins Instamart after stepping down from Flipkart-owned Myntra in April. She has more than two decades of experience across ecommerce and consumer goods, with earlier roles at Flipkart, Britannia and Hindustan Unilever.Swiggy group CEO Sriharsha Majety said Sinha would bring “customer obsession and operational rigour” to Instamart. He said Jha had helped scale the business, improve its contribution margins and sharpen its assortment through launches such as the private-label brand Noice. At Nykaa, Jain will be tasked with expanding Nykaa Now to more markets. The service currently offers products from over 1,000 beauty and personal-care brands within 30 to 60 minutes across 13 cities.Nykaa plans to expand the service to high-demand pockets across the country by FY30. It is also building a wider delivery network through next-day deliveries and two-to-three-hour fulfilment from its retail stores.
