Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy has requested US ambassador to India Sergio Gor to simplify the H-1B visa processing, renewal, and stamping procedures, and appealed to provide information in advance regarding any changes in the visa regulations.The CM paid a courtesy call on Gor in Delhi on Wednesday. During the 30-minute meeting, he requested an increase in the number of visas for students from Telangana traveling to the US for higher education and sought assistance in ensuring timely visa appointments. The CM also urged for an increase in visa interview slots and the expediting of visa application processing.Revanth Reddy brought to the ambassador’s attention the issues faced by professionals from Telangana working in various sectors in the US. During the meeting, the CM and the ambassador shared information about the safety and welfare of students from Telangana studying in the US.The CM highlighted the investment prospects for US companies in Telangana. The state govt is ready to partner with US firms in IT, artificial intelligence, Life Sciences, pharmaceuticals, startups, research, and modern technology, he added.Revanth Reddy requested the ambassador to facilitate collaborations between US universities and educational institutions in Telangana. He stressed that student exchange, research, innovation, and skill development programs be expanded between Telangana and the US.Ambassador Sergio Gor assured full cooperation in further expanding trade, investments, cultural exchanges and people-to-people ties between Telangana and the US.
