Bathinda: Three masked assailants fired at least six shots at the home of Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu in Pharwahi village, Barnala district, early Sunday. No injuries were reported.CCTV footage captured the attack at 1:33 a.m. The bullets hit the home’s iron gate, according to residents. Police recovered six empty shells from the site.Sidhu was not home during the incident, as he is currently abroad promoting his film ‘Judaa‘, released Aug 21. He had been assigned two gunmen.Sidhu was close to slain rapper Shubhdeep Singh, known as Sidhu Moose Wala, and displays “Justice for Sidhu Moosewala” on his Instagram profile.An unverified audio clip posted on social media in the name of gangster Dony Bal claimed responsibility for the attack. The speaker alleged Sidhu used Moose Wala’s name while performing for Moose Wala’s rivals. Alam said police are investigating the audio clip.The attack follows an earlier dispute in Jan, when Pharwahi village sarpanch Baljinder Singh and two others were arrested for threatening Sidhu over a song about sarpanches.
