Noida: A bomb threat sent to the official email address of Noida Authority triggered panic on Thursday afternoon, prompting an extensive search of its seven-storey office in Sector 39. The email was found to be a hoax as no suspicious object or explosive material was found during the searches.Police said the email warned that Authority building would be blown up. A police team and a dog squad searched offices, common areas and surrounding premises for any suspicious object or explosive material. The cyber cell has been tasked with tracing the source of the email and examining its technical details, including the IP address and other digital clues, police said.Cops are also trying to determine whether the email was sent from an identifiable device or through a method intended to conceal the sender’s identity.Security arrangements at Authority complex were tightened following the threat. Police said necessary precautions were being taken to ensure the safety of employees, officials and visitors.In July, a hoax bomb threat email was sent to the district magistrate’s office in Greater Noida.
