Dibrugarh: A wave of Tricolours swept through Tengakhat on Thursday as Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal joined a Tiranga Rally ahead of Independence Day.More than 500 party workers and several dignitaries participated in the rally, which celebrated the national flag and the patriotic spirit of India’s freedom struggle.Addressing the gathering, Sonowal said the Tiranga Rally was “not merely an event but a reflection of national unity, civic responsibility and respect for the country.” He said the Tricolour was a reminder of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and urged citizens to honour their legacy by nurturing patriotism among the younger generation.Sonowal also visited Mahatma Gandhi’s statue and paid floral tributes. He said Gandhi’s ideals, dedication and patriotism continued to inspire generations, and that his contribution and sacrifice would guide India towards becoming a strong, developed and prosperous nation.The Union minister urged citizens to take the message of unity, harmony and patriotism to every household and uphold the dignity of the national flag.
