Jaipur: Jaipur district administration has appointed sub-divisional officers (SDOs) as administrators in 19 Panchayat Samitis whose terms are set to expire this month, ensuring continuity in the functioning of the rural local bodies until the next elections are held.Jaipur collector Sandesh Nayak issued orders appointing the respective SDOs as administrators of the Panchayat Samitis.As per the orders, the SDO of Jamwaramgarh has been given charge as administrator of Andhi and Jamwaramgarh Panchayat Samitis, while the SDO of Bassi will oversee Bassi and Toonga Panchayat Samitis. The SDO of Chaksu has been appointed administrator for Chaksu and Kotkhawda Panchayat Samitis.Administrators have also been appointed to Amer, Dudu, Govindgarh, Jalsu, Jothwara, Jobner, Kishangarh Renwal, Madhorajpura, Maujamabad, Phagi, Sambhar Lake, Sanganer and Shahpur Panchayat Samitis.The administrators will be responsible for overseeing the functioning and administrative affairs of the Panchayat Samitis after the completion of the elected bodies’ tenure.Across Rajasthan, the terms of six Zila Parishads and 78 Panchayat Samitis are ending around this period. The Zila Parishads include Jaipur, Sirohi, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Jodhpur and Bharatpur.In the case of the Zila Parishads, collectors have been appointed as administrators to oversee their functioning after the expiry of the elected bodies’ terms.The appointment of administrators is part of the state’s interim administrative arrangement as the govt and State Election Commission prepare for the next round of Panchayati Raj elections.
