Sachiv-G: Gram panchayats get digital assistant to help expedite decision-making

Varanasi: For generations, the term “Sachivji” has been synonymous with the village official who guides panchayats through govt procedures and welfare schemes. Now, that role is entering the digital age. The launch of AI Sachiv-G, an artificial intelligence-powered platform developed by the Piramal Foundation, marks a significant leap in strengthening grassroots governance and accelerating the digital transformation of rural administration.The platform has been designed to serve as a digital assistant for gram panchayats, offering instant access to govt schemes, administrative procedures, meeting records, and development-related information. The initiative aims to make rural governance faster, more transparent, and more efficient.The platform was jointly launched by DM Satyendra Kumar, chief development officer Prakhar Kumar Singh, district panchayati raj officer Alok Kumar Sinha, and Pradhan Sangh district president Rakesh Singh on Monday.The DM said that artificial intelligence is emerging as a powerful tool for making administrative systems more effective, transparent, and accountable. He said AI Sachiv-G would enable gram panchayat representatives to access information related to various govt schemes and governance guidelines in both written and audio formats.He added that the platform would help simplify and expedite administrative functions, including recording meeting proceedings, preparing reports, and ensuring the timely completion of official tasks.The CDO described the initiative as a major step towards digitally empowering gram panchayats.A live demonstration of AI Sachiv-G was also conducted during the programme. Officials explained that the platform would offer immediate assistance in accessing scheme-related information, preparing documents, recording meeting proceedings, and carrying out various administrative tasks. Gram pradhans and officials described the platform as user-friendly, practical, and aligned with future governance needs.
