Gandhinagar: The state govt on Tuesday said that in the past 10 years, relief assistance worth Rs 22,733 crore was provided to 1.4 crore farmers. In the last one year itself, Rs 10,337 crore was deposited in the bank accounts of 36.7 lakh farmers as compensation for crop loss, the govt added.Due to sudden changes in weather patterns, farmers in Gujarat faced challenges such as unseasonal rain, excessive rainfall, and cyclones over the past decade, govt said, adding that the it has adopted a compassionate approach by offering financial backing to farmers who have faced crop losses.
