‘Roll back Tungabhadra Exp terminal change’

Hyderabad: The train travellers association has appealed to the SCR to reconsider the recent change in the termination of the Tungabhadra Express from Secunderabad to Kacheguda. The association stated that a large number of passengers from Rayalaseema region, particularly Kurnool district, including state and central govt employees, are residing in Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation limits and surrounding areas such as Moula Ali and AS Rao Nagar. These commuters heavily rely on the Tungabhadra Express for their weekend travel to native places. Due to the change of termination to Kacheguda, passengers from Malkajgiri and nearby areas are facing severe inconvenience, as there are no proper MMTS connections, the representation stated. The association also stated that passengers are forced to make use of different modes of transport to reach the station, resulting in increased expenses and more travel duration.
