Noida: Residents of Sector 1 in Greater Noida West have sought urgent repair of the main road leading to Bisrakh village, which has developed deep craters and potholes. The road, they said, is used by hundreds every day, including office-goers and school children from nearby housing societies.Among those who have expressed concern are the residents of Ace Divino housing society, which is located opposite to the road. Sanjeev Pundir, a member of the apartment owners’ association of the housing, said, “The potholes are not only numerous but also deep, which makes riding or walking on this road extremely dangerous.” The situation is worsened by rain, which floods the road and makes it difficult for motorists to understand where the potholes are.Pundir said apart from residents of Ace Divino, residents of the nearby Flora Heritage housing society as well as those from Bisrakh village use the road daily and have echoed the same concerns. He said he has made repeated complaints to Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority but it had not taken any steps to address the matter yet. “Any more delay can lead to a major accident here,” Pundir said.Subhash Bhati, a resident of Bisrakh, reiterated the request and called for swift action to repair the road, highlighting the urgent need for a safe passage for all who use it. “Immediate repairs are essential to prevent potential accidents and ensure the well-being of the community,” he said.While GNIDA officials said road repair work will be taken up soon, residents said they were sceptical as the Authority’s promises have not been implemented so far.Sector 1 in Greater Noida West is a fast-developing residential and commercial hub located close to FNG Expressway (Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad) which provides it with smooth connectivity to other parts of Delhi-NCR.
