RIICO expands flexible land payment scheme to 10 new sectors

Jaipur: Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) has widened its flexible land payment scheme to cover 10 more sectors, easing entry for capital‑intensive industries.Textiles and apparel, handicrafts, food processing, data centres, wool processing, ceramics and glass, electronic components, and petrochemical products are now eligible to pay the premium for industrial plots in instalments spread over 10 years. Earlier, the payment period used to be three to five years depending on the sectors. The scheme was earlier extended to logistics, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs), semiconductors, aerospace and defence, and waste processing.Officials said the expansion reflects the state govt’s push to attract investment through sector‑specific policies such as the Rajasthan Data Centre Policy‑2025, Logistics Policy‑2025, Global Capability Centre Policy‑2025, Vehicle Scrapping Policy‑2025 and Aerospace and Defence Policy‑2026.Under the model, investors must deposit 10% of the land premium within 30 days of receiving the offer letter. The 5% earnest money deposit paid at the application stage is adjusted against this amount. The remaining 90% can be paid in annual instalments over 10 years, with an interest rate of 8.5%.A senior RIICO official said the scheme is designed to reduce upfront costs and improve investor confidence, particularly in sectors where land acquisition is a major hurdle.Officials added that the facility is expected to make land acquisition easier for industries with high capital requirements, encourage new projects, and diversify the state’s industrial base.
