Hyderabad: The Congress govt has decided to extend Prajavani services to people at revenue division and mandal level in the state. Presently, Prajavani centres are functioning in Greater Hyderabad, which is a state-level centre, and in all district headquarters.Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday held a review meeting with top officials at MCRHRD Institute and directed chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and chief minister’s office (CMO) officials to develop an administrative mechanism where officials at all levels would be available to resolve grievances.“A unified digital platform should be developed for registration, tracking and resolution of grievances as Prajavani services will be extended to the grassroots levels,” the CM said. This would provide relief to them from travelling to Hyderabad and district headquarters from rural areas. Specific instructions were also issued mandating that every complaint submitted by citizens be duly registered, forwarded to the relevant department, and that the applicant be kept informed regarding the status of the application. The CM emphasised that all departments should set deadlines to resolve the people’s grievances without any delay. For this, a unified digital platform should be developed for registration, tracking and resolution of grievances. A real-time monitoring mechanism would also be established at both state and district levels.Further, Revanth Reddy directed that dedicated nodal officers be appointed for Prajavani services at every administrative level. Specialised Prajavani wings would also be established in every district and every govt department. It has been mandated that an auto-escalation system be implemented to ensure that if a grievance remains unresolved at one level, the petition would automatically be forwarded to a higher official. If necessary, an appeal mechanism would be introduced. The CM warned that there must be absolutely no compromise in the grievance redressal process and conduct regular review meetings at both the state and district levels. The officials were instructed to pay special attention to pending grievances and monitor the progress of grievance resolution through the dashboard. The officials concerned would be held accountable for any delays in addressing the grievances. He highlighted that decentralising Prajavani services would help to reduce burden on state and district-level Prajavani centres. Revanth said Prajavani was launched immediately after the Congress govt came into office in Dec 2023, with an objective of addressing the people’s grievances expeditiously. Since then, Prajavani has been successfully conducted every Tuesday and Friday at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Begumpet.Officials from departments were receiving applications and petitions from people directly and taking immediate action. Prajavani programme is also being organised every week under the supervision of collectors at the district level.
