Gorakhpur: Giving a major boost to healthcare infrastructure in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan Shukla on Monday inaugurated two key health facilities-a 13-bed intensive care unit (ICU) at the Railway Hospital and a 15-bed private ward at AIIMS Gorakhpur.The newly established ICU, equipped with modern life-support systems and critical care facilities, will strengthen emergency and intensive care services in the region, said the officials. The facility will help seriously ill patients get advanced treatment locally, reducing the need for referrals to hospitals outside the region.The private ward at AIIMS Gorakhpur has been designed to provide enhanced patient comfort along with access to advanced medical care. According to the AIIMS administration, the ward will be operationalised in phases and bed capacity will be gradually expanded to its full capacity. Charges for the ward will be in line with approved rates followed at AIIMS, New Delhi. Both the facilities have been developed through the MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) fundsSpeaking on the occasion, Ravi Kishan said that improving healthcare facilities for people of Gorakhpur and the wider Purvanchal region remains one of his top priorities. He said MPLAD funds are being utilised for projects that directly benefit the public and strengthen essential services.
