Gurgaon: A 19-year-old girl died by suicide on Wednesday after being raped, filmed and blackmailed by some youths two days ago. She was raped in Nuh’s Bichhor area around 1am, police said.“Pressured by constant blackmailing, she drank pesticide and fainted,” a complaint lodged by her father said, adding that she had narrated the ordeal to the family before taking the extreme step. “We just want justice for our daughter,” said the father, who told police the accused are “dabang (notorious) individuals”.She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors told her father that she had consumed a poisonous substance, after which police were alerted. “After recording the statements, we took our daughter to a govt hospital but she died on the way,” the father — a farmer — said.Two days ago while he was out, his daughter was sleeping alone inside her room, while her mother was sleeping on the terrace. Around 1am on Monday, two men — Arshad and Jahul, who were named in the FIR that was registered following the complaint — entered their home. Another unknown person was standing outside the house to keep vigil, the complaint said, adding, “The accused took turns and raped my daughter. They even recorded the assault and took obscene photographs.”The father said the accused threatened his daughter that if she told this to anyone, she would be killed. “Then they began blackmailing her with videos and photos of the assault. They called her and asked her to meet them and if she didn’t, her photos and videos would be circulated on social media,” the father added.The father told TOI, “I have not been keeping well and my mother is also undergoing health issues. I had gone to meet her and to consult a doctor. Behind my back, the accused targeted my home and assaulted my daughter. This incident has shattered me and left me in distress. I am not an affluent person. I only want the accused to be arrested and strict action should be taken against them.”“Following the FIR, a team is on the lookout for the accused,” an officer said. The body was handed over to the family on Wednesday evening.
