Bengaluru: The city is set to become a hub of imagination as Ranga Shankara gears up for the 16th edition of AHA! International Theatre for Children Festival, scheduled from July 18 to 25. More than just a cultural event, the eight-day festival is a celebration of live storytelling at a time when screens increasingly dominate children’s attention.This year’s edition brings together theatre groups from Argentina, South Korea, Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany and India, reinforcing Bengaluru’s growing reputation as a global destination for children’s theatre. Organisers say the festival aims to nurture creativity, empathy and critical thinking through engaging visual/physical storytelling.Themes ranging from environmental awareness to challenging stereotypes are presented in ways that resonate with young audiences.Since its launch in 2009, AHA! has introduced generations of children to the transformative power of theatre. For parents looking to inspire imagination, patience and curiosity in their children, the festival promises a week of immersive performances and meaningful experiences.“Children’s theatre is not a luxury; it is essential to shaping thoughtful, empathetic citizens. Across India, there is a huge vacuum in quality cultural content created specifically for kids.
