Rajasthan State Junior Girls Football tournament begins; Hosts Dholpur drub Pali 4-0; Sriganganagar, Ajmer and Udaipur post wins

Jaipur: The Rajasthan state-level junior girls’ football tournament, organised by the Dholpur District Football Association under the auspices of the Rajasthan Football Association, began on Sunday at the Tasimo football ground in Dholpur.In the opening match, hosts Dholpur put up a dominant performance, crushing Pali 4-0. In the second encounter, Sriganganagar also drubbed Sikar with the same margin 4-0.In another one-sided outing, Ajmer defeated Jodhpur 2-0. The fourth and last match of the day was played between Jhunjhunu and Udaipur in which both the teams tried hard. Udaipur downed Jhunjhunu 3-1 to earn a hard-fought win.

Khushboo Singh, former chairperson of the Dholpur Municipal Council, was the chief guest, and Dilip Singh Shekhawat, secretary of the Rajasthan Football Association, was the guest of honour.Addressing the players, the chairperson said that the girls of Dholpur are consistently excelling in football and will bring glory to the district not only at the national but also international level in the future. She urged the players to participate in the competition with full confidence and sportsmanship.Dilip Singh Shekhawat, secretary of the Rajasthan Football Association, said that Dholpur is establishing a new identity in the field of football. He noted that its players are consistently performing well at the state and national levels. Shekhawat praised the Dholpur District Football Association for successfully organising the tournament.

Rajasthan Football Association’s observer Rafiq Sindhi, Karauli Football Association’s secretary Asif, District Football Association’s president Gurmeet Mann, secretary Sandeep Rana, Nagaur secretary Farhat Ali, Sriganganagar secretary Madan Lal and coach Aslam Khan along with a large number of sports lovers and dignitaries were present in the function.
