Hyderabad: Aerospace and defence manufacturer Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group is investing over ₹600 crore in setting up a 50-acre integrated nickel-based superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana.The plant, scheduled to begin commercial production in Jan 2028, is designed for annual output of about 5,000 tonnes.Raghu Vamsi Aerospace said the facility will be led by former chairperson and managing director of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (Midhani), Dr SK Jha, whose experience in strategic materials would support the company’s plan to build a globally competitive superalloy ecosystem in India.The facility will house vacuum melting, forging, heat treatment, vacuum casting, powder metallurgy and other forming capabilities, producing round bars, wires, forgings, castings, tungsten carbide powders and specialised products for aerospace, defence, energy and other high-technology sectors. The announcement was made at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in London.Nickel-based superalloys are used in aero engines, space systems, defence platforms, gas turbines, oil and gas equipment, nuclear energy, medical implants and hydrogen technologies. India imports a large share of its nickel alloy requirements, making local production important for supply-chain security and self-reliance.Raghu Vamsi Aerospace founder and managing director Vamsi Vikas Ganesula said the project would strengthen the group’s manufacturing capabilities and give Indian industry access to world-class alloys.
