For the third time in a row, Sairaj Nayse has qualified for the main draw in the national-level (Under-17 boys doubles) badminton tournament. After Jaipur early this year, upcoming Nagpur shuttler Sairaj also made it to the main draw last month in Hyderabad.Sairaj Nayse and his partner Satya Chauhan of Mumbai won four rounds to clinch a berth in the main draw at the Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub Junior (U-15 & 17) Ranking Badminton tournament 2026 in Bangalore (June 29 to July 7).In the fourth and final qualifying round in the U-17 boys doubles, No. 12 seeds Sairaj and Satya defeated Assam’s Riyandeep Rimon Borah and Bhargab Pratim Gogoi 15-3, 15-12 to grab a place in the main draw.However, in the Round of 32, Sairaj and Satya duo went down fighting against the fourth seeds Swarit Satpute and Abheek Sharma of Pune In an all-Maharashtra battle, Swarit-Abheek beat qualifiers Sairaj-Satya 21-18, 21-15 in half an hour.Both Sairaj and Satya are trainees of Arundhati Arun Badminton Academy. Sairaj is being supported by AU Foundation.
