Lucknow: A citizen-feedback initiative launched by the Lucknow Traffic Police has hit a technical snag, with residents reporting that the QR code meant to open the traffic police’s Google Form is redirecting them to an unrelated webpage.The glitch surfaced on Tuesday, just two days after the launch of the ‘Sahbhagita’ initiative, which seeks public suggestions on recurring traffic and road-safety problems across the city.The QR code had been publicised as the primary way for residents to submit suggestions, along with photographs and location details. However, several residents who scanned it on Tuesday said they were unable to access the feedback form.“I scanned the code expecting the traffic police’s feedback form, but it took me to a completely different page. I tried again, but the result was the same,” said Waseem Rizvi, an old-city resident.Another resident, Suhani Sahay of Gomtinagar, said a faulty QR code could discourage public participation. “If the QR code is the main entry point to the campaign, it needs to work consistently,” she said.The technical issue emerged a day after the initiative received 14 suggestions on Monday.Among the suggestions was a proposal to remove the 1090 roundabout, while others flagged traffic bottlenecks and encroachments, particularly along Ayodhya Road.DCP Traffic Raveena Tyagi said the reported QR code problem would be fixed shortly.Traffic Police had said suggestions received through the initiative would be assessed on road safety, technical feasibility and site conditions.
