Ludhiana: Jamalpur police have booked a woman and her two sons for allegedly abusing, assaulting, and threatening her 76-year-old father-in-law and husband over a property dispute at Pratap Colony in Mundian Kalan.The case was registered following a complaint by the elderly victim, Dibara Singh. The named accused are his daughter-in-law Kuldeep Kaur and her sons, Maninder Singh and Jaskaran Singh.Dibara alleged that Kuldeep Kaur had been pressuring him and his son, Harvinder Singh, to transfer ownership of their house into her name under threats of false legal implications. Although Dibara succumbed to the pressure and transferred the property two years ago, family disputes escalated, with the accused repeatedly threatening to evict them.The situation turned violent on July 7 when the trio allegedly attempted to forcibly evict Dibara and Harvinder. During the altercation, Kuldeep Kaur allegedly hit both men with a stick, causing injuries, while all three accused issued death threats.Jamalpur police have registered a case under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigating officer Head Constable Gurinder Singh said the allegations are under examination and statements from both parties are being recorded as part of the ongoing probe.
