Hyderabad: Immigration authorities at RGI Airport detained a 45-year-old priest from Pragati Nagar after he returned from the US on June 25, based on the look-out circular (LOC) issued by Bachupally police in a cheating case.The priest was handed over to Bachupally police, who served him a notice to appear for questioning.According to Bachupally police, the accused is Ch Rama Latcha Rao alias Rama Sarma, who is also a businessman. On April 29, 2025, police booked a cheating case against Rao, his wife Prameela, and their associate MVR Vara Prasad, on the complaint of a software engineer, M Naveen Kumar, of Bachupally for allegedly duping the latter by not returning Rs 20 lakh borrowed from him between 2023 and 2025.“Rao went to the US in 2024. After the investigation, a chargesheet was filed against all three accused in 2025, and Rao was shown as absconding. A LOC was issued against Rao in 2025, and based on that, he was intercepted at RGI Airport when he returned from the US on June 25,” Bachupally inspector C Satish Kumar said.
