Bengaluru: A key witness in the ongoing trial in one of the rape cases registered against former MP Prajwal Revanna told the special court that she received threatening phone calls after recording her evidence and expressed fear for her safety and that of her son.On July 6, the 43-year-old social worker from Holenarasipura in Hassan district was examined as prosecution witness.Taking note of her statement, the court directed the SIT chief, additional director general of police, CID, to look into the alleged threats and submit a report on the next date of hearing.The witness reportedly told the court that if anything happened to her or her son, the accused should be held responsible. The court directed officials to provide protection to her as per the law.Prajwal, convicted for raping a 47-year-old domestic help, is lodged in Central Prison.Central Crime Branch officials had recovered a mobile phone, charger, pen drive and scribbling pad from Prajwal’s cell in the high-security barrack during a raid on Aug 11.
