Panaji: Goa police rescued two minor girls allegedly kidnapped in separate cases and arrested the accused after investigations led officers to Carambolim in Goa and Begusarai in Bihar.In the first case, Old Goa police rescued a 14-year-old girl and arrested a 19-year-old Bihar native after tracking him for around 50 days.Police registered an FIR based on a complaint by the girl’s father, a native of Uttar Pradesh, who said his minor daughter had left their residence and suspected that an unidentified person had kidnapped her and taken her to an undisclosed location.PI Satish Padwalkar said a team from Old Goa police station was formed to trace the girl and the accused.The accused allegedly moved between another state and various parts of Goa before he was traced and apprehended at Carambolim. The girl was rescued from his custody, Padwalkar said.In the second case, Agasaim and Old Goa police rescued a 15-year-old girl and arrested a 20-year-old accused in Bihar.Agasaim police registered an FIR based on a complaint by the girl’s family, also from Bihar, alleging that an unidentified person had kidnapped the minor.During the investigation, police gathered information indicating that the accused was in Bihar. A team was subsequently sent there.Padwalkar said the team visited Refinery police station in Begusarai and, with assistance from the local police, traced the girl within its jurisdiction. The team kept surveillance on the accused’s movements before tracing him at Noorpur, Begusarai, along with the minor.The 20-year-old accused was arrested and the girl rescued, Padwalkar said.
