Police expect KBR Park one-way traffic flow to improve in a few days
KBR Park one-way traffic system

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar observed that the first day of the one-way traffic system around KBR Park has caused traffic congestion at certain places during the peak hours due to road design issues and lack of public awareness. The senior cop said that police in coordination with GHMC officials will monitor the situation, which is expected to improve in a few days with increased public awareness. While answering the media queries during a media conference at Hyderabad police commissioner’s office in ICCC, Banjara Hills, Sajjanar said traffic flow was smooth during the morning hours but after 9 am, vehicular congestion occurred in places like road number 45 junction and Agrasen Bhavan junction due to road design issues and lack of public awareness.“We have deployed about 500 police personnel in four shifts round the clock to ensure proper implementation of one-way traffic system around the park. Two drone cameras are being used to monitor the traffic flow from the command control centre,” the commissioner said.He observed that despite the advance awareness campaign taken up by the police about the implementation of the one-way traffic system around KBR Park, not many people were aware of it. “Several motorists have not seen the advisories carried in media and on our social media handles. Especially a lot of two-wheeler riders stopped at the diversion points and picked up arguments with police,” Sajjanar said.RTC buses taking turns on the narrow roads also slowed down the traffic flow and police said they will have a discussion with RTC officials to address the issue. “In two to three days we expect that motorists will get used to the new system. We appeal to the public to cooperate with the police,” the police commissioner said.
