Chennai: The Pinakini Express running between Vijayawada and Chennai Central was halted between Athipattu and Ennore stations on Wednesday afternoon after a fault developed in its pantograph. Railway officials said the pantograph, a device mounted on electric trains to draw power from overhead wires, developed a defect while the train was en route to Chennai. Power supply on the express line was temporarily shut off to facilitate repairs, and the fault was subsequently rectified. The incident resulted in a delay of more than 30 minutes in the arrival of the train at Chennai Central. Railway officials said the disruption did not affect the movement of any other express or suburban train services.
