PG operator attacked after spat over loud music, two brothers held

Noida: A 45-year-old paying guest (PG) accommodation operator died after allegedly being pushed during a dispute over loud music at a birthday party in Gejha of Sector 93 around 7pm on Friday. Police said two brothers were arrested and a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered at Phase 2 station.Satish Sharma, a Gejha resident, had gone to a neighbour’s house in lane number 5 to ask them to lower the volume of a home theatre system playing loud music for a birthday party. The request led to an argument with the hosts, Lalit Sharma and Sumit Sharma.Police said the confrontation escalated as Sharma was leaving after the exchange. The brothers allegedly chased and pushed him, and he fell onto the road, suffering head and facial injuries. He lost consciousness soon after and was rushed to a hospital by his family, where he was declared dead.A preliminary inquiry indicated the fatal injuries resulted from the fall following the push. Police have registered a case on the complaint of Satish’s family and arrested the two accused on Saturday.Investigators are questioning neighbours and others present at the time to establish the sequence of events, and further action will depend on the autopsy report and evidence gathered during the probe.The incident led to tension between the two sides in the locality, but police reached the spot and took steps to prevent further escalation.
