Panchkula: The municipal corporation has announced a one-time scheme offering a 100% waiver on interest on outstanding property tax, with commissioner Vinay Kumar urging owners to clear dues by June 30.Under the scheme, taxpayers need to pay only the principal amount for the period 2010-11 to 2024-25, with the entire interest component waived. Property ID self-verification is mandatory to avail of the benefit.Calling it a major relief measure, the commissioner said the initiative provides an opportunity to settle long-pending dues and ensure records are accurate and updated. Citizens have been advised not to wait till the last day.To facilitate the process, the MC is organising special property tax camps and mega camps across the city for on-the-spot assistance with verification, record correction and payment of dues. Adequate staff will be deployed at all venues.“The interest waiver will not be available after June 30.
