Ahmedabad: An overcast sky covered Ahmedabad and much of Gujarat on Tuesday. However, despite a seasonal trough stretching across the region, heavy monsoonal downpours remain elusive, leaving most of the state facing a prolonged dry spell.In Ahmedabad, conditions remained mild and typical for the season. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 33°C and a minimum of 25.4°C on Tuesday, close to normal.Data from India Meteorological Department (IMD)] reveals that major rainfall systems are currently absent across the region. The state’s weather is primarily governed by an atmospheric trough extending from eastern Uttar Pradesh to Gujarat. Consequently, while light scattered showers remain possible, the IMD has issued no heavy rainfall warnings for the next five days.Across Gujarat, rain activity was sparse on Tuesday, with only 17 talukas logging 1mm or more of rainfall. South Gujarat saw minor activity: Nizar in Tapi district recorded the highest rainfall at 11mm, followed by 7mm in Dang. Chikda in Narmada district, Subir in Dang, and Gandevi in Navsari registered 6mm each.With no strong weather drivers in sight, residents across Ahmedabad and Gujarat can expect overcast skies and light sporadic drizzles to persist without any significant downpours in the coming days.
