New Delhi: Over 33 lakh enumeration forms have been distributed since the special intensive revision (SIR) of Delhi’s electoral roll began on June 30. New Delhi district has emerged as the best performer in terms of coverage, according to the latest data released by the chief electoral officer of Delhi.The national capital has nearly 1.5 crore registered electors. A total of 33.1 lakh forms have been distributed so far, taking the overall distribution coverage to 22.8%. Meanwhile, 1 lakh forms have been digitised, meaning that the forms were filled and returned by the voters, and uploaded online by the booth-level officers (BLOs).In terms of the number of forms distributed, North East district tops the list with 4,53,878 forms, followed by North West (3,81,072), North (3,05,464), West (2,97,246), South East (2,96,068), East (2,94,572), South West (2,88,628), South (2,79,090), Outer North (1,96,113), Central North (1,85,211), Old Delhi (1,54,207), Central (1,34,138) and New Delhi (48,429).However, when measured by the share of each district’s electorate covered, New Delhi district is in the first position, followed by North, North West, Old Delhi, North East, Outer North, Central North, South West, South, West, Central, South East and East.The enumeration form is a preprinted key document with some basic details of the voters. Every registered voter is required to fill the form to facilitate verification and updation of the electoral roll. The exercise aims to identify genuine electors, correct errors and remove ineligible entries. Voters can either hand it over to the BLO during the door-to-door visit or submit the details online.SIR started in Delhi on June 30, and the distribution and collection of enumeration forms will conclude on July 29. The draft electoral rolls will be published on Aug 5, while claims and objections can be filed until Sept 4. The final one is scheduled to be published on Oct 7 after disposal of claims and objections.As part of SIR, the poll panel has deployed booth-level officers across the capital to distribute, collect and digitise the enumeration forms as part of the ongoing revision of the electoral rolls.
