Hyderabad: With Congress govt approaching its 1,000-day mark, opposition parties are lining up protests, and an assembly session scheduled from Sept 7 is providing a fresh arena for the battle of claims and counterclaims.Congress govt will complete 1,000 days in office on Sept 2. BRS has planned a series of programmes to highlight what it calls failures in implementing Congress’s election promises, while Telangana BJP is preparing protests on issues such as Section 22A, fee reimbursement dues and farmers’ problems.BRS plans to take its campaign to people for a week, with party leaders preparing a charge sheet on Congress govt’s performance. It will be released at Telangana Bhavan on Sept 1. From Sept 2, BRS plans a series of programmes highlighting what it describes as failures of Congress govt and its policies. Party leaders said they would counter what they called misinformation on implementation of schemes and promises.BRS also plans to highlight financial issues and alleged shortcomings in implementation of welfare measures. Its week-long programme is expected to culminate in protests involving employees’ and teachers’ organisations on Sept 10.Telangana BJP, meanwhile, has chalked out a series of protests on public issues. A meeting of party MPs, MLAs and MLCs was held at its Nampally office on Saturday under state president N Ramchander Rao to finalise its action plan.BJP legislature party leader A Maheshwar Reddy will undertake a protest on Sept 5 and 6 over GO 22A. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will hold a maha dharna on fee reimbursement on Sept 7.BJP Kisan Morcha is also planning a march from Adilabad to Hyderabad, with details to be finalised soon.MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy said BJP MPs, MLAs and senior leaders would coordinate their programmes and take up public issues. Union minister G Kishan Reddy is also scheduled to tour Chevella parliamentary constituency.
