Bengaluru: Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is planning to launch an online khata correction facility to make property record updates easier. Citizens will be able to correct most details, such as location and ward number, except the owner name and property measurements.“GBA has received around 25 lakh draft khata applications, of which over 10 lakh final e-Khatas have been issued. Officials said applications are usually processed within five days if documents are in order. The system is seeing steady use, with over 1,000 applications submitted daily and one e-khata issued every 30 seconds,” special commissioner Munish Moudgil said Thursday.A rejection audit team has been set up to review and reverse unfair decisions. An automatic mutation system has also been introduced, ensuring property updates after registration and in inheritance cases, with SMS alerts sent to citizens after completion. tnn
