Pune: The inquiry officer on Wednesday commenced recording statements of the Bharati Vidyapeeth police personnel for allegedly parading three minor boys on the bonnet of a police vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.The three boys, who were detained for allegedly hacking a 17-year-old boy to death on Monday night, were tied to the bonnet of the vehicle. The vehicle was then roamed in the Bharati Vidyapeeth area on Tuesday afternoon.The detained minors and the deceased, who are all school dropouts, had been rivals for the past few months, police said.A video of the incident surfaced on social media. The video also showed that a woman beat the minor boys up. It triggered action against the police personnel involved in the activity.“We have started recording statements of the police personnel who are seen. We will probe the matter thoroughly and then take action against the personnel involved in the incident after verifying their role and who ordered the parade of the boys,” said deputy commissioner of police (Zone II) Milind Mohite.
