Dibrugarh: Security forces apprehended an active NSCN (IM) cadre during a special operation in Ledo, Tinsukia district, on Friday.The cadre was identified as self-styled sergeant major Yangsin Khocha, a resident of Phangsun village under Namtok police station in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district. A mobile phone and a carry bag were recovered from him.Security sources said preliminary interrogation reportedly yielded information about the movement and activities of other cadres targeting security forces. The information is being verified as part of the investigation.Sources said Khocha was allegedly operating under the direction of previously apprehended NSCN (K-YA) cadre self-styled captain Yumsen Kongkang.During questioning, Khocha reportedly disclosed details of cadres allegedly infiltrating Changlang with weapons. They were purportedly planning attacks on security forces and collecting extortion money, sources said.He also reportedly revealed his alleged role in channelling extortion proceeds to senior members of the outfit.“The apprehension was made based on credible intelligence inputs. The information recovered during preliminary questioning is being verified to establish the activities and links of the network,” a security official said.
