Gurgaon: Residents of Greenwood City have raised concerns over the poor condition of the main connecting road to sectors 40 and 45, which they said has developed large potholes and remains waterlogged for days after rains.They said the road was reconstructed nearly two years ago, but the absence of a proper drainage system has resulted in water accumulating on the stretch.Residents said the road is crucial as it serves as one of the main access routes to Greenwood City. An alternative route is longer and adds around 2 km to the journey. They also said the road is used by people travelling towards the ISKCON temple, making the poor condition of the stretch a concern during heavy footfall.Bhawna Gupta, a resident, said constant bumps while travelling on the road have aggravated her cervical problems. “I already have a cervical problem, and commuting on this road has aggravated it. The potholes and uneven surface make the journey very uncomfortable, and I have to undergo physiotherapy because of the recurring pain,” Gupta said.“We have been told to wait for another two months as the drainage system is being planned. At least the damaged portions should be repaired temporarily so that residents can use the road safely,” Vineeta Khosla, RWA president of Greenwood City, C block, said.Residents said the issue has been raised with MCG officials, and they want the damaged portions to be repaired immediately rather than wait for the drainage work to be completed.Meanwhile, an MCG official said, “We are replacing the sewer line in the area with a 24-inch line. The work started, but residents stopped it midway. The work will resume this week. Road reconstruction would also be taken up along with the sewer work.”
