NFR intensifies restoration of landslide-hit hill track

Silchar: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has intensified restoration work on the landslide-hit Lumding–Badarpur hill section, with senior officials reviewing operations at the worst-affected stretch near New Harangajao on Saturday as train services continued to remain disrupted.Railway sources said restoration of the damaged twin tracks could take another 10 to 12 days. Despite the disruption, the New Delhi–Silchar Sampark Kranti Express crossed New Harangajao station on Saturday at a restricted speed before continuing its journey to Silchar. Several other trains have been rescheduled.
