Lucknow: The body of a newborn boy was found in a washroom in the triage area of the emergency department at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) on Monday morning.According to officials, a sanitation worker spotted the body at around 8.45am and alerted officials.The newborn was found with the placenta still attached.The hospital administration informed the police, who reached the spot and took the body into custody. Police are examining CCTV footage to establish when and by whom the baby was brought into the washroom and the circumstances surrounding his death.RMLIMS spokesperson Dr Bhuvan Chand Tiwari said the time and cause of death would be determined after postmortem.
