Ahmedabad: The body of a girl, estimated to be around two days old, was found in Kharicut canal near express highway off National Highway 8 in the city.The body was found in the canal along the stretch towards Gor na Kuva. Her umbilical cord was reportedly still attached, raising suspicion that she may have been abandoned soon after birth. The exact cause of death and the circumstances in which the baby entered the canal are yet to be established.After the discovery, residents gathered near the canal and social worker Harshad Patel alerted the police control room. Ramol police have registered a complaint.
