Gurgaon: MCG on Monday appointed 36 ward-wise sanitation nodal assistants-cum-assistant sanitary inspectors to regularly inspect and monitor sanitation across the city.According to an order issued by the civic body, the nodal assistants will oversee garbage vulnerable points (GVPs), door-to-door waste collection, road sweeping, and cleanliness of roads, streets and public areas. They have been directed to conduct regular field inspections and immediately report sanitation deficiencies to the concerned field staff or agency.All inspections must be recorded on MCG inspection app, along with observations, deficiencies found and action taken.The nodal assistants will also monitor complaints received through govt grievance redressal platforms, official channels and other legitimate sources. They will verify such complaints and ensure their timely resolution. Complaints related to vulnerable points, door-to-door garbage collection and road sweeping will be addressed on priority.They are required to maintain records of complaints and issues, including their source, action taken, time taken for resolution and pending status.MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said regular field-level monitoring and accountability were essential to improving the city’s sanitation system. “Ward-wise appointment of sanitation nodal assistants will make it more effective to identify deficiencies in sanitation services, monitor complaints and ensure their time-bound resolution,” he said.Dahiya directed officials to take immediate action on serious or recurring sanitation problems and ensure continued follow-up until deficiencies identified in the field are resolved.Serious, repeated or unresolved sanitation problems must be immediately brought to the notice of joint commissioners for intervention. Joint commissioners will monitor the functioning of nodal assistants under their jurisdiction and ensure timely resolution of sanitation-related complaints.The order also requires joint commissioners to submit a consolidated report by 11am to additional commissioners, with a copy to the additional commissioner (HQ). The report must include the number and details of complaints received or noticed, ward-wise status, source or platform of complaints, action taken, issues resolved, pending matters with reasons, and cases requiring further intervention.MCG has directed strict compliance with the daily reporting mechanism. Serious sanitation issues requiring immediate attention must be reported to higher authorities without waiting for the scheduled daily report. The order clarifies that merely reporting a sanitation deficiency will not be considered compliance, and nodal assistants must follow up until the issue is actually resolved.
